Jared, Dave and I rolled in late - delayed by frequent
Jared, Dave and I rolled in late - delayed by frequent emergency stops to shoot rainstorms - and crashed Steele's already full campsite. Space wasn't exactly abundant for we three car-camping men, so Dave volunteered to sleep elsewhere that night.
When he rejoined us in the morning he brought along an enthusiastic and bushy-tailed aspiring physician: Alexander. "Just what we need," I thought, "another dude camping in his van crowding things up." Alex's predatory eyes had taken Dave for a solo climber without friends (so, half right) and Dave didn't have the heart to tell Alex that he was spoken for. But! Alex fell right into step with our newly formed coalition of climbers from across the country. His strength and psych are going to take him far - a year and a half on the road climbing won't hurt either. "Well I figure when I get out of medical school I'm going ro be broke anyways, so I might as well start now." One of the new compadres made this past week in the land of cracks and sand.
